PDGM Changes and Top Paying Diagnosis Group
The 2022 Home Health Payment rule provided a revision to the PDGM payment program. This included a rebasing the case-mix, modified functional limitation scoring, revised low and high comorbidity groups. It is essential that your agency understand the inner workings of the PDGM changes to help your agency succeed in 2022. As you may know, CMS provided a 2.6% payment increase, but government provided a lump of coal as a Christmas present. Sequestration will resume in 2022 and remove 2% of that 2.6% increase.

Discuss the changes to the comorbidity clinical groups.
